Something on my mac(os 12.1) is sporadically muting my headphones at times that seem random to me. Is there a way to identify what app is doing it?

2022.01.18 13:57 ScatterVine_Gaming Basic query is extremely slow thanks to mediumtext
Hello! I'm using MySQL 5.3.
I have a table with the following columns:
handle (text, the same text can be found up to 5 times in the table and is defined by the user)
slot (int, 1 through 5)
My query is very simple:
SELECT * FROM mytable WHERE handle = m813zzt34Yu2
This worked fine at first, but now that I have over 5000 rows in my table, it takes anywhere from 30 to 40 seconds to execute this query. I'm guessing it's because the "data" column contains around 2MB of data per row. Any ideas on how I could speed this up at all?

2022.01.18 13:57 Drunken_Scribe In ME 2 what is the last point I can save and come back later to do DLC?
I'm currently doing a playthrough of ME and sticking mainly to the story missions (basically soaking up the whole Trilogy tale in one big binge). I'm doing 2 right now and just finished the derelict collector ship. I'd like to make a save at the last possible spot so I can come back after I finish the trilogy and still do some DLC that I missed.
I remember there being a point of no return around the suicide mission...can anyone tell me what mission triggers this?

2022.01.18 13:57 Weary-Screen-7721 I’ve never had a successful trip on DMT before. Had a few attempts but I’ve always burnt it. I’m not hear to talk about that tho, I’m actually wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience to this before.
At the end of my senior year of high school when I still was a very much so lightweight with weed (the only substance I had experience with at the time. Didn’t even drink till after this experience), one of my buddies brought me over to a friends house to smoke some dabs. I was excited. Wasn’t often I even saw concentrates. Couple of em went first. We were using a rig with a ceramic nail. “She” got to me and said “I’m feeding it to you, all you have to do is breathe in. Don’t stop until I say so.” So I did. I saw her weigh out the dab, which came out to 1 gram. This got me nervous. I took a quick breath and gave her the A Okay. I was coughing like a fuckin maniac for a few minutes and then I felt fine. Just a normal high…………… nope…. I fell into a portal entirely made up of energy. I had no body, no mind or emotions, there was no “I” at all. But apparently I’d been screaming comprehensively the whole time, and when I came out, everyone was bubbles. Can weed really do this? I’ve been wondering wtf happened for years

2022.01.18 13:57 benzlean Timeline for acceptances
Im applying to Immunology and umbrella biomedical sciences PhD programs this cycle. I had 2 interviews last week and was wondering what the timeline is to hear back. The admissions committee just said we will hear back soon so I’m not sure what that means. I imagine it varies by school as well. In anyone’s experience, how long did it take to hear back? I have a few more interviews coming up and I know I will be way more relaxed if I have an acceptance already. Thank you!

2022.01.18 13:57 FunkU247 My Meat...
Trying to maximize the shelf life of my meats. My current system is to use foodsaver vaccum bags with a suggested freezer life of 2-3 years for most meats. These are stored in my 22 CUFT chest deep freezer. At the 2.5 year mark I take the meat out and pressure can it in mason jars; that gives it an estimated shelf life of 1-2 years (USDA recommends). This gives me an estimated storage life of 3-5 years for a 1/4 cow fresh meat. Does anyone have a method to extend this or get a longer fresh usage life?? This might be better posted in homesteading or canning.... just curious if prepper communities has come up with a better method?

2022.01.18 13:57 eagle_bonanza01 Caramel, Butterscotch, Toffee
Caramel, butterscotch, and toffee are all common tasting notes for bourbon. However, I didn't have a great understanding of how they differed in terms of the cooking process and other ingredients. I found the webpage below helpful in better knowing the notes. And after eating some of these candies, I feel pretty informed.
What I've taken away is that when I want to describe a light sugar forward note I use caramel. A darker sugar and buttery note is butterscotch. I tend to use toffee to describe something that is sweet, dark, and nutty as I associate toffee with nuts.
Caramel - white sugar heated to 340 degrees F. caramelization can be achieved by simply heating sugar, other ingredients including butter, milk, and vanilla are often added afterward to produce a thick, creamier caramel.
Butterscotch - a type of soft-crack candy created by slowly heating butter and brown sugar together.
Toffee - is butterscotch that has been cooked for a longer period of time. Toffee begins as a base of butter and brown sugar that is gradually cooked to the hard-crack sugar stage between 295 and 309 degrees Fahrenheit.
